What the app records

While tracking is on, Duskan keeps a local log of how your time was spent:

• which app was in front, and the title of its window;
• when each stretch started and ended, and when you were idle or away;
• what you enter yourself: areas, tasks, plans, rates and invoices.

Window titles can contain personal things (a document name, a page you had open). They are stored only so you can see what your time went to. Tracking runs only while you have it on.

Where it is kept

In a database file in your user folder on Windows (%APPDATA%\duskan), with daily backups next to it and an error log in the same place. Uninstalling the app and deleting that folder removes all of it.

What leaves your computer

Your data never does. The one connection the app makes is to GitHub, every few hours, to check whether a newer version of Duskan exists and download it. That request carries no tracking data, only what any download does (your IP address, seen by GitHub).

The error log is never sent anywhere. If you ask for help, you choose whether to attach it.

This website

The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs. It counts visits and clicks on the download button with PostHog, anonymously: no cookies, nothing stored in your browser, and no profile tied to you. The app itself sends nothing to PostHog.
